Jeff's comments: Cedric spent years working as an airline pilot-living in hotels and eating food from airports. Cedric decided he wanted to make a major change and has really made great progress. One of the most interesting things about Cedric is he is making these changes at 60 years old. So he is overcoming years of learned habits and behavior. That is a great challenge, but he is making great strides.
One thing I shared with Cedric was my own personal transformation. Like Cedric, I started with an external goal ("get in shape" or "lose fat") which transformed into internal goals (feel great, control my health condition, feel strong and totally alive). Research shows us an internal goal has more staying power than an external goal, and my personal experience is consistent with this. I always encourage people to transform the external goals into internal goals. Cedric is in the process of doing that, and it is pretty amazing to witness!
